Tips

Read the prompt's task verb before anything else. Explain, compare, evaluate and describe each earn points differently, and answering the wrong verb is the most common avoidable loss.

Evidence must be specific and named. "Many reformers pushed for change" earns nothing; a named movement, figure, law or event tied to the claim does.

In document-based questions, use the documents *and* your own knowledge. Sourcing a document - who wrote it, for whom, and why - is a separate skill from quoting what it says, and both are assessed.
