Draw first, then write. Working the released questions this way builds the habit the exam rewards, and it usually makes the written explanation shorter and clearer too.

Label everything, every time — both axes, every curve, the initial and the new equilibrium. The scoring guidelines award these separately, and unlabelled work is treated as absent.

Check what the question asks you to show. "Show the effect on price and quantity" wants both marked on the diagram, not described underneath it.
