Tips · ⁨Mẹo⁩

For 0510 and 0511, do the reading and writing paper first and mark it against the criteria rather than against a model answer. Content points and language are scored separately, so a response can cover everything asked and still lose half its marks, and the mark scheme is where you see which half went.

Count your content points before you write. Directed writing is marked on whether each bullet is covered and developed, and the commonest lost marks are a bullet answered in four words because the clock ran out on the first one.

For listening, play the recording once, exactly as in the exam, and only replay it after you have marked. Replaying while you answer trains a skill the exam does not test and hides the one it does.
