Dos patrones de "no importa lo que…" que comparten una misma gramática: not to be concerned不管bù guǎn …all / both都dōu/also也yě… (hablado) y no matter what or how无论wú lùn/whatever不论bù lùn …all / both都dōu/also也yě… (escrito). Ambos indican que el resultado se mantiene independientemente de la situación — y ambos exigen una variable abierta en la primera cláusula: una palabra interrogativa o una opción A u B. Esa regla de variable abierta es lo que evalúa el examen.

regardless of / no matter ... : the spoken "no matter"

Structure: regardless of + (Question Word / choice), (Subject +) all / also + Result

Regardless of what you wear, it looks good on you. (Bùguǎn nǐ chuān shénme dōu hǎokàn.) — No matter what you wear, it looks good on you.

No matter what, we must prepare properly. (Bùguǎn zěnmeyàng, wǒmen dōu yào hǎohāor zhǔnbèi.) — No matter what, we must prepare properly.

The first clause must contain something open: a question word — who, what, how — or a choice (A or B / A-not-A). Then all or also locks down the result regardless.

Try it. Promise a friend you'll come whatever the weather: regardless of whether it rains or not, I will come. not to be concerned不管bù guǎndown下xià不下雨bù xià yǔ，I / me我wǒall / both都dōuto come来lái。 (Bùguǎn xià bu xiàyǔ, wǒ dōu lái.) — the A-not-A form down下xià不下雨bù xià yǔ is the open variable.

regardless of / no matter ... : the written "no matter"

Structure: regardless of / no matter + (Question Word / choice), all / also + Result

No matter how successful he is, he always feels he's not good enough. (Wúlùn duōme chénggōng, tā dōu juéde zìjǐ bú gòu hǎo.) — No matter how successful he is, he always feels he's not good enough. No matter how hot it gets, we have to keep going. (Wúlùn tiān duō rè, dōu yào jiānchí.) — No matter how hot it

gets, we have to keep going. Regardless of (or no matter) is grammatically identical to regardless of — same open-variable rule, same all / also close. The difference is register: speech uses regardless of, writing uses regardless of.

Note how / very inside the question word: regardless of how hot means "no matter how hot" — the degree word itself is the open variable.

Nota: how (wonderful etc)多么duō me / many多duō dentro de la palabra interrogativa: no matter what or how无论wú lùn多热duō rè significa "no importa cuánto calor haga" — el El propio grado es la variable abierta.

Tenga cuidado

• No open variable, no pattern. No importa lo que lleves puesto ✓; No importa esta prenda ✗ — una cláusula nominal plana no ofrece a la oración nada sobre lo cual abarcar. Este es el clásico tipo de examen: verifica la primera cláusula en busca de who谁shéi / what什么shén me / how / why怎么zěn me / how (wonderful etc)多么duō me o una elección A-not-A.
• not to be concerned不管bù guǎn / no matter what or how无论wú lùn son condiciones, no hechos — para una concesión real usa although虽然suī rán / despite尽管jǐn guǎn (Tema 15).
