Vocabulary
English Meaning
impulse responseThe zero-state output produced by a unit impulse: a Dirac impulse in continuous time or a unit sample in discrete time.
convolutionAn operation combining shifted weighted copies of signals; it gives the zero-state LTI output from input and impulse response.
causalityA system is causal if its output at any time depends only on present and past inputs, not future ones.
BIBO stabilityThe property that every bounded input produces a bounded output.
frequency responseHow a system's gain and phase change with the frequency of a sinusoidal input.
