Speaking
Speaking Room
The real three-part interview, under the real clock. You type your answers; three of the four criteria are marked.
Card 39 / 40
Part 1 · Reading
Four familiar-topic questions. Answer each one, then add one reason or example — never a single word.
- Do you read much in your own language?
- What was the last book you finished?
- Do you prefer paper books or reading on a screen? Why?
- Has the amount you read changed since you started studying English?
Part 2 · The long turn
Describe feedback that helped you improve something.
You should say:
- what you were working on
- who gave you the feedback
- what they pointed out
- and explain how you used their comments
1:00
One minute to prepare with paper and a pencil — the box stays locked, exactly as the examiner keeps the card. Then two minutes, and it does not stop early.
Part 3 · Discussion
Abstract follow-ups on the same theme. Give a view, a reason, an example, then the other side — a one-sentence answer is the standard failure here.
- What makes feedback specific enough to be useful?
- Should feedback focus on every mistake at once?
- Why might people react defensively to helpful comments?
- How can someone check whether a revision actually improved the work?
