Speaking
Speaking Room
The real three-part interview, under the real clock. You type your answers; three of the four criteria are marked.
Card 40 / 40
Part 1 · Phones and technology
Four familiar-topic questions. Answer each one, then add one reason or example — never a single word.
- How much time do you spend on your phone each day?
- What do you use it for most?
- Was it different two or three years ago?
- Would you find it hard to go a week without it?
Part 2 · The long turn
Describe a time you had to understand unfamiliar instructions.
You should say:
- what you were trying to do
- why the instructions were difficult
- how you clarified them
- and explain what you learned
1:00
One minute to prepare with paper and a pencil — the box stays locked, exactly as the examiner keeps the card. Then two minutes, and it does not stop early.
Part 3 · Discussion
Abstract follow-ups on the same theme. Give a view, a reason, an example, then the other side — a one-sentence answer is the standard failure here.
- What makes instructions clear for a beginner?
- When is a diagram more useful than a written explanation?
- Should people ask for help before trying a task themselves?
- How can someone test whether instructions are easy to follow?
