Speaking
Speaking Room
The real three-part interview, under the real clock. You type your answers; three of the four criteria are marked.
Card 36 / 40
Part 1 · Travel and transport
Four familiar-topic questions. Answer each one, then add one reason or example — never a single word.
- How do you usually get to school or work?
- What do you think of the public transport where you live?
- Have you ever travelled by train for a long distance?
- Where would you go if you had a free week?
Part 2 · The long turn
Describe an interesting conversation you did not expect to have.
You should say:
- who you spoke with
- where the conversation happened
- what you discussed
- and explain why it stayed in your memory
1:00
One minute to prepare with paper and a pencil — the box stays locked, exactly as the examiner keeps the card. Then two minutes, and it does not stop early.
Part 3 · Discussion
Abstract follow-ups on the same theme. Give a view, a reason, an example, then the other side — a one-sentence answer is the standard failure here.
- What makes a conversation more than an exchange of information?
- How can people ask questions without making someone uncomfortable?
- Why might people from different generations misunderstand each other?
- Do digital messages make unexpected conversations easier or harder?
