Speaking
Speaking Room
The real three-part interview, under the real clock. You type your answers; three of the four criteria are marked.
Card 38 / 40
Part 1 · Music
Four familiar-topic questions. Answer each one, then add one reason or example — never a single word.
- What kind of music do you listen to?
- When during the day do you usually listen to it?
- Did you learn a musical instrument at school?
- Do you think children should learn an instrument? Why?
Part 2 · The long turn
Describe a small success that was important to you.
You should say:
- what you were trying to do
- what made it difficult
- how you achieved it
- and explain why it mattered to you
1:00
One minute to prepare with paper and a pencil — the box stays locked, exactly as the examiner keeps the card. Then two minutes, and it does not stop early.
Part 3 · Discussion
Abstract follow-ups on the same theme. Give a view, a reason, an example, then the other side — a one-sentence answer is the standard failure here.
- Why can a small achievement matter more than a public prize?
- How should people measure progress on a difficult task?
- Can comparison with others reduce motivation?
- What kind of encouragement helps someone continue practising?
