Speaking
Speaking Room
The real three-part interview, under the real clock. You type your answers; three of the four criteria are marked.
Card 18 / 40
Part 1 · Where you live
Four familiar-topic questions. Answer each one, then add one reason or example — never a single word.
- Do you live in a house or a flat?
- Which room do you spend most time in, and why?
- Is there anything you would change about it?
- Did you live somewhere different when you were younger?
Part 2 · The long turn
Describe something you repaired or helped to repair.
You should say:
- what the item was
- what was wrong with it
- how you approached the repair
- and explain how you felt about the result
1:00
One minute to prepare with paper and a pencil — the box stays locked, exactly as the examiner keeps the card. Then two minutes, and it does not stop early.
Part 3 · Discussion
Abstract follow-ups on the same theme. Give a view, a reason, an example, then the other side — a one-sentence answer is the standard failure here.
- Why do some people replace things instead of repairing them?
- Which practical skills would be useful to teach at school?
- How can a repair service make its limits clear?
- Should manufacturers make products easier to repair?
