Speaking

Speaking Room

The real three-part interview, under the real clock. You type your answers; three of the four criteria are marked.

Card 19 / 40

Part 1 · Food and cooking

Four familiar-topic questions. Answer each one, then add one reason or example — never a single word.

  1. What did you have for breakfast this morning?
  2. Do you prefer eating at home or eating out? Why?
  3. Have your eating habits changed in the last few years?
  4. Is there a dish you would like to learn to cook?

Part 2 · The long turn

Describe a book you borrowed and enjoyed.

You should say:

  • what the book was about
  • where you borrowed it
  • what you particularly remember
  • and explain why you enjoyed it

One minute to prepare with paper and a pencil — the box stays locked, exactly as the examiner keeps the card. Then two minutes, and it does not stop early.

Part 3 · Discussion

Abstract follow-ups on the same theme. Give a view, a reason, an example, then the other side — a one-sentence answer is the standard failure here.

  1. What are the advantages of borrowing rather than buying books?
  2. How can a library help readers choose suitable books?
  3. Does reading on a screen change how people choose material?
  4. Should readers finish a book they do not enjoy?
