Speaking
Speaking Room
The real three-part interview, under the real clock. You type your answers; three of the four criteria are marked.
Card 17 / 40
Part 1 · Study and work
Four familiar-topic questions. Answer each one, then add one reason or example — never a single word.
- What subject are you studying at the moment?
- Why did you choose it?
- What do you find most difficult about it?
- What would you like to do after you finish?
Part 2 · The long turn
Describe a time you changed your opinion about something.
You should say:
- what your original opinion was
- what made you reconsider it
- what you thought afterwards
- and explain why changing your opinion mattered
1:00
One minute to prepare with paper and a pencil — the box stays locked, exactly as the examiner keeps the card. Then two minutes, and it does not stop early.
Part 3 · Discussion
Abstract follow-ups on the same theme. Give a view, a reason, an example, then the other side — a one-sentence answer is the standard failure here.
- Why can people find it difficult to admit they were wrong?
- What makes evidence persuasive?
- Should schools encourage students to question their first answers?
- Can a person change an opinion without losing confidence?
