文本转录
Two no-matter patterns share one grammar. Buguan is the spoken one and wulun the written one, and both say the outcome holds whatever the case. Both also demand an open variable in the first clause, a question word or an A-or-B choice, and that open-variable rule is exactly what the exam tests.
The structure is buguan plus an open variable, then dou or ye plus the result. Buguan ni chuan shenme dou haokan, no matter what you wear, it looks good on you. Buguan zenmeyang, women dou yao haohaor zhunbei, no matter what, we must prepare properly. The first clause must contain something open, a question word like shei, shenme or zenme, or an A-or-B choice. Then dou or ye nails the result down regardless, whatever branch the world takes.
Promise a friend you'll come whatever the weather. Open the variable with the A-not-A form: xia bu xiayu, rain-or-not. Build the frame: buguan xia bu xiayu, wo dou lai, no matter whether it rains, I'm coming. Check the shape, open variable in the first clause, dou in the second, and the pattern is complete. Say it aloud; the promise only counts when it is spoken.
Wulun, or bulun, is grammatically identical to buguan, same open-variable rule, same dou or ye close, and the difference is register: speech takes buguan, writing takes wulun. Wulun duome chenggong, ta dou juede ziji bu gou hao, no matter how successful he is, he always feels he's not good enough. Wulun tian duo re, dou yao jianchi, no matter how hot it gets, we have to keep going. Note duome and duo inside the question word: the degree itself is the open variable here.
The classic exam item is the flat clause. Buguan ni chuan shenme works, because shenme is open, the sentence ranges over every possible outfit. Buguan zhejian yifu fails, because a plain noun gives the sentence nothing to range over; you would need buguan zhejian yifu duome hao kan to open it. And keep the boundary: buguan and wulun carry conditions, not facts, so a real concession about what actually happened takes suiran or jinguan from topic fifteen.
Pause and check both. First, dou and ye are the two words that close a buguan sentence, nailing the result across every branch. Second, not correct: wulun zhejian yifu dou haokan has no open variable; the fix is wulun zhejian yifu duome haokan, with the degree word opening the range. The remaining review items: speech takes buguan and writing takes wulun, and the rain promise is buguan xia bu xiayu, wo dou lai. Check your own next promise for its open variable before you say it.
