The picture is clear, but the instructions are inaudible
- A viewer cannot follow your demonstration if the speech is buried under music. Check the specific problem before buying equipment.
- Decide what viewers should learn and how they will access it. Plan speech, visible actions and captions together.
Plan shots around the learning goal
- A storyboard 分镜脚本 records the image or action, narration, duration and source for each shot. Use short sketches or a table.
- A two-minute plan could use 15 seconds for the question, 30 for the method, 40 for evidence, 20 for a limitation and 15 for a conclusion and credits.
A video plan allocates 15, 30, 40, 20 and 15 seconds. What is its total duration in seconds? ·
15 + 30 + 40 + 20 + 15 = 120 seconds, or two minutes. · 15 + 30 + 40 + 20 + 15 = 120
Time the words with the actions
- A script 脚本 helps you choose clear wording; an outline can work too if a timed rehearsal shows it fits. No fixed ratio tells you how long unscripted speech will take.
- Read aloud while allowing time for the viewer to inspect a chart or see an action. Cut repetition, then check the timing again.
For a 40-second evidence shot, show a labelled chart, explain the largest value, and allow a pause. Include the source in a readable note. Do not fill every second with new numbers.
Unscripted speech always takes exactly three times as long as scripted speech. ·
Duration varies. Test your script or outline aloud with the actual actions rather than relying on an invented ratio. ·
Make a short recording test
- Audio quality 音质 depends on noise, distance and recording level. Listen to a test with headphones; reduce background noise and avoid distorted loud peaks.
- Check lighting, focus and framing too: a quiet recording cannot repair an unreadable demonstration. Choose improvements based on the learning goal.
Your test picture is clear but the speech is masked by background music. What should you fix first?
The observed problem is masked speech. Improve and retest that before changing unrelated equipment. ·
Make speech and visuals accessible
- Provide accurate captions for speech and important sounds. Review automatic captions, especially names and technical terms; a transcript gives a separate text record.
- Narration should explain essential visual actions. Keep labels readable long enough to inspect, and avoid music that covers speech.
Match each accessibility feature to its main purpose. ·
These provide different routes to the content; captions must be checked rather than assumed accurate. ·
Check rights, consent and the final file
- Check permission and credit requirements for borrowed images, charts, music and clips. Public-domain material and your own work have different requirements; a citation alone is not permission.
- Check consent and privacy when filming people. Test the exported file's sound, captions and playback on another device, and test a shared link as the intended viewer.
Owning the camera does not give you rights to a song playing in the background or permission to publish another person's image. Follow the task's reuse and consent requirements.
Which checks are needed before sharing a video with borrowed music and a filmed classmate? Select all that apply. ·
Music rights, people’s consent and working delivery are distinct checks. Camera ownership answers none of them.
Adding a source credit automatically gives permission to reuse a copyrighted song. ·
Credit acknowledges a source; permission or another valid basis for reuse must be checked separately. ·
Review what the viewer learns
- Ask a partner to explain the main point after watching. Revise a confusing step or missing label before submitting.
- Produce a storyboard and a short test clip first. Keep the source log, permissions, checked captions and final playback result with your project evidence.
Plan for meaning and access, test the recording, check rights, then test the finished file. Planning reduces avoidable problems; it cannot guarantee one-take recording.

For this planned workflow, arrange the main stages. ·
The plan guides the rehearsal; testing guides recording; the final exported result needs its own check. Revision may send you back to an earlier stage. ·
The exported file plays on your laptop, but the viewer reports no captions. What should you do?
The editing preview and delivered output may differ. Verify the actual caption track or burned-in captions in the intended playback environment. ·
