Tips

Never work these papers without the case in front of you. Every mark above knowledge is contextual, so practising the questions in the abstract trains exactly the wrong habit. Read the case twice, underline the figures, and decide what kind of business it is before answering.

A useful self-check: of each paragraph, ask "could this sentence appear in an answer about a different company?" If it could, it is a knowledge sentence and earns nothing more. That one test catches most of the gap between a middling and a strong script.

Secure the calculations first — ratios, investment appraisal, break-even. They are objectively right or wrong, they recur in a stable form, and they do not depend on writing fast under pressure.
