Vocabulary
English Meaning
PID controllerA controller that adds proportional, integral and derivative actions on the error signal.
proportional/prəˈpɔːʃənl/Controller action proportional to the present error or specified measured signal.
integral/ˈɪntɪɡrəl/Accumulation represented mathematically by integration; in a PID controller, integral action accumulates tracking error over time.
derivative/dɪˈrɪvətɪv/Controller action responding to the rate of change of error or a specified measured signal.
lead compensatorA compensator providing positive phase over a chosen frequency range, often used to improve the loop response.
anti-windupMeasures limiting unwanted integrator accumulation when actuator saturation prevents the requested control action.
