English Meaning
buckA DC–DC converter that gives an output voltage lower than its input voltage.
duty cycleSwitch on-time divided by the switching period.
volt-second balanceZero net inductor-voltage integral over a switching period at periodic steady state.
boostA DC–DC converter that gives an output voltage higher than its input voltage.
continuous conductionA converter mode with no zero-current interval in its storage inductor; in the unidirectional examples its current remains positive.
synchronous rectificationUsing controlled transistors in place of rectifier diodes to carry the required current paths.
