Eighty characters about a trip
- A writing task asks you to describe a trip you remember in at least eighty characters.
- Eighty characters is about five or six short sentences. A plan makes it connected instead of a list.
Plan four parts
- When and where (last year去年summer夏天，I / me我and / with和family member家人to go去(completed / change)了Hangzhou subprovincial city…杭州), what happened (two or three events in order), one concrete detail (Xihu or West lake (place…西湖suffix of a noun of locality边(modifier / structural particle)的lotus荷花), why you remember it.
- Time words link the events: 第一天, then / after然后, afterwards后来, final最后.

Make it concrete
- Replace general words with details: degree / adjective linker很to be playful好玩 → we / us我们at / in在Xihu or West lake (place…西湖(bound form) up上坐船，to see看见(completed / change)了很多lotus荷花。
- Add a feeling and a reason: I / me我to feel / think觉得degree / adjective linker很to relax放松，because因为that那to be / is是we / us我们whole family全家the first time第一次in the same place一起to travel旅行。

Common mistakes
- A list with no links: I / me我to go去(completed / change)了Hangzhou subprovincial city…杭州。I / me我坐船。I / me我to have a meal吃饭。 — add then / after然后 / afterwards后来 and details.
- Stopping before the minimum length; short answers lose marks.
