Nanyi means unavoidable or bound to. It softens a negative by saying it cant be helped: nanyi fan cuo, mistakes are unavoidable. It is always followed by a verb or verb phrase.
Shou means receive or suffer and forms passive-like compounds: shou shang, get hurt; shou huanying, be welcomed; shou yingxiang, be affected. The verb after shou is usually a single character.
