Introductions, identity and polite exchanges

    Ver lección

    Programa de aprendizaje próximamente

    Material

    What this topic teaches

Your first Chinese conversation: introducing yourself, asking who someone is, and the four polite words that open every exchange. One tiny word — (yes/no ?)吗ma — turns any statement into a yes/no question, and it will follow you for the rest of your Chinese life.

    Introducing Yourself

I / me我wǒvariant of 叫叫jiào林安lín ān。 (Wǒ jiào Lín Ān.) — My name is Lin An.

    I / me我wǒto be / is是shìstudent学生xué shēng。 (Wǒ shì xuésheng.) — I am a student.

variant of 叫叫jiào introduces a name — "I'm called…". to be / is是shì links who you are — student, teacher, doctor. Two different jobs, two different words.

you你nǐto be / is是shìteacher老师lǎo shī(yes/no ?)吗ma? (Nǐ shì lǎoshī ma?) — Are you a teacher?

Adding (yes/no ?)吗ma to the end turns a statement into a yes/no question — nothing else moves. I / me我wǒto be / is是shìteacher老师lǎo shī "I am a teacher" becomes you你nǐto be / is是shìteacher老师lǎo shī(yes/no ?)吗ma "Are you a teacher?"

Try it. Introduce yourself twice, once with each verb: I / me我wǒvariant of 叫叫jiào……,I / me我wǒto be / is是shì……。 Say it to your desk, then to a classmate.

    Asking What, Not Yes-or-No

you你nǐvariant of 叫叫jiàowhat什么shén mename (of a person or thing)名字míng zì? (Nǐ jiào shénme míngzi?) — What's your name?

A question-word question (what什么shén me "what", who谁shéi "who") already asks for information — do not add (yes/no ?)吗ma to it. (yes/no ?)吗ma is for yes/no only.

The negative uses not不bù: I / me我wǒno不是bú shìteacher老师lǎo shī (wǒ bú shì lǎoshī) — I'm not a teacher. not不bù slides in front of to be / is是shì, and nothing else changes.

    The Four Polite Words

    Palabra Cuándo usarla
    hello你好nǐ hǎo (nǐ hǎo) Saludo
    to thank谢谢xiè xiè (xièxie) Agradecimiento
I'm sorry对不起duì bù qǐ (duìbuqǐ) Disculpa
    goodbye再见zài jiàn (zàijiàn) Despedida

Practícalo. Ejecuta el ciclo completo con un compañero: hello你好nǐ hǎo → you你nǐvariant of 叫叫jiàowhat什么shén mename (of a person or thing)名字míng zì? → to thank谢谢xiè xiè → goodbye再见zài jiàn.

    Tenga cuidado

    Repaso

    1. ¿Qué verbo introduce un nombre — variant of 叫叫jiào o to be / is是shì?
    2. ¿Cómo conviertes I / me我wǒto be / is是shìteacher老师lǎo shī en una pregunta?
    3. ¿Puede you你nǐvariant of 叫叫jiàowhat什么shén mename (of a person or thing)名字míng zì? llevar (yes/no ?)吗ma?
    4. ¿Qué palabra cortés dices al despedirte?

(Respuestas: 1. variant of 叫叫jiào introduce un nombre; to be / is是shì vincula la identidad. 2. Añade (yes/no ?)吗ma: you你nǐto be / is是shìteacher老师lǎo shī(yes/no ?)吗ma? 3. 4. goodbye再见zài jiàn.)

Dates, time and event information

    Ver lección

    Programa de aprendizaje próximamente

    Material

    What this topic teaches

    Sin palabras nuevas después de diez: solo apilas los bloques. ten十shí (10) + one / a一yī (1) = 11; two二èr (2) + ten十shí (10) = 20; twenty二十èr shí + three三sān = 23.

May 5th es May五月wǔ yuèthe fifth五号wǔ hào — "mes cinco, día cinco".

what time?几点jǐ diǎn (jǐ diǎn) pregunta la hora del reloj. week星期xīng qīhow many / a few几jǐ (xīngqī jǐ) pregunta el día de la semana. at / in在zàiwhere哪里nǎ lǐ (zài nǎlǐ) pregunta dónde.

Wednesday星期三xīng qī sānafternoon下午xià wǔ三点sān diǎn,school学校xué xiào。

Una frase de tiempo generalmente va antes del verbo: I / me我wǒtoday今天jīn tiān三点sān diǎnto go去qùschool学校xué xiào (wǒ jīntiān sān diǎn qù xuéxiào) — Voy a la escuela a las tres hoy.

Construye una oración sobre tu propio día: I / me我wǒtoday今天jīn tiān……点去diǎn qù……。

    Tenga cuidado

Lee la palabra interrogativa y su unidad: week星期xīng qīhow many / a few几jǐ quiere un día, what time?几点jǐ diǎn quiere una hora del reloj.

    Repaso

    1. Construye 35 a partir de bloques numéricos.

(Respuestas: 1. 三十五sān shí wǔ — "tres-ten-cinco". 2. El año primero: grain年nián → moon月yuè → sun日rì/ordinal number号hào. 3. week星期xīng qīhow many / a few几jǐ. 4. Antes del verbo: I / me我wǒtoday今天jīn tiān三点sān diǎnto go去qùschool学校xué xiào。)

    What this topic teaches

一个yí gèapple苹果píng guǒ (yí ge píngguǒ) — una manzana. 两个liǎng gèapple苹果píng guǒ (liǎng ge píngguǒ) — dos manzanas.

La palabra de medida ((measure word)个gè es la cotidi- ana) conecta el número con la cosa — como en inglés "two cups of tea" o "three slices of bread", excepto que el chino necesita esta palabra para casi todo sustantivo. two两liǎng vs two二èr: antes de una palabra de medida, los objetos se cuentan con two两liǎng (两个liǎng gèapple苹果píng guǒ). two二èr se mantiene en nombres de números, fechas y números ordinales (二十三èr shí sān, Tuesday星期二xīng qī èr).

Practícalo. Cuenta tres cosas sobre tu escritorio usando (measure word)个gè: 一个yí gè……,两个liǎng gè……。 números con nombre, fechas y números ordinales (二十三èr shí sān, Tuesday星期二xīng qī èr).

    how many / how much多少duō shaocoin钱qián? (duōshao qián?) — ¿Cuánto cuesta? I / me我wǒwant / think / miss想xiǎngto buy买mǎi…… (wǒ xiǎng mǎi…) — Quisiera

Preguntar el precio, expresar el deseo

(Wǒ yào liǎng ge píngguǒ.) — Me llevaré dos manzanas. 十块钱shí kuài qián。 (shí kuài qián.) — Diez yuanes.

(Wǒ yào liǎng ge píngguǒ.) — Me llevaré dos manzanas. 十块钱shí kuài qián。 (shí kuài qián.) — Diez yuanes.

    Tenga cuidado

    • No omitas la palabra medidora: 一个yí gèapple苹果píng guǒ (yī gè píngguǒ), no one / a一yīapple苹果píng guǒ (yī píngguǒ). Aprende pares sustantivo + palabra medidora en contexto.

    Repaso

    1. Di el patrón completo para "dos manzanas".
    3. ¿Cómo preguntas el precio?
    4. ¿Cómo dices "mi libro"?

    (Respuestas: 1. 两个liǎng gèapple苹果píng guǒ — cantidad + palabra medidora + sustantivo. 2. two两liǎng (liǎng). 3. how many / how much多少duō shaocoin钱qián?) 4. I / me我wǒ(modifier / structural particle)的debook书shū — (modifier / structural particle)的de indica posesividad.)

La escuela está aquí. (Xuéxiào zài zhèlǐ.) — The school is here.

at / in在zài localiza: persona o cosa + at / in在zài + lugar.

Practica. Responde dos preguntas sobre tu propio día: 今天天气jīn tiān tiān qìhow about怎么样zěn me yàng? y school学校xué xiàoat / in在zàiwhere哪里nǎ lǐ?

    Tenga cuidado

Bienestar y tiempo libre: expresar que no se siente bien, decir qué se quiere hacer y los dos palabras "poder" — can / will会huì para habilidades aprendidas, can / be able to能néng para lo que permite el día.

Expresar que no se siente bien

I / me我wǒnot不bùcomfortable舒服shū fú。 (Wǒ bù shūfu.) — No me siento bien. I / me我wǒwant / think / miss想xiǎngrest休息xiū xī。 (Wǒ xiǎng xiūxi.) — Quiero descansar.

Confort simple: many多duōrest休息xiū xī。

can / be able to能néng y can / will会huì: dos tipos de "poder"

can / will会huì = una habilidad aprendida mediante práctica. can / be able to能néng = lo que la situación permite.

you你nǐcan / will会huìswimming游泳yóu yǒng(yes/no ?)吗ma? (Nǐ huì yóuyǒng ma?) — ¿Puedes nadar (sabes cómo)? you你nǐtoday今天jīn tiāncan / be able to能néngswimming游泳yóu yǒng(yes/no ?)吗ma? (Nǐ jīntiān néng yóuyǒng ma?) — ¿Puedes nadar hoy (es posible ahora)?

Mismo nado, diferente pregunta: can / will会huì pregunta por la habilidad, can / be able to能néng pregunta por hoy.

    Deseos y preferencias

¿Qué quieres hacer? (Nǐ xiǎng zuò shénme?) — What do you want to do? Me gusta leer libros. (Wǒ xǐhuan kànshū.) — I like reading.

Practica.

    Repaso

    1. ¿Cuál "puede" pregunta sobre una habilidad aprendida?
    2. you你nǐtoday今天jīn tiāncan / be able to能néngswimming游泳yóu yǒng(yes/no ?)吗ma? asks what?
    3. How do you say "I don't feel well"?
    4. ¿Es many多duōrest休息xiū xī un consejo médico?

    (Respuestas: 1. can / will会huì — a skill learned through practice. 2. Today's possibility. 3. I / me我wǒnot不bùto stretch舒shū Taiwan pr.服fú。 4. No — it is classroom comfort in a role-play.)

    What this topic teaches

daughter女儿nǚ ér喝水hē shuǐ (nǚ'ér hē shuǐ) — la hija bebe agua. daughter女儿nǚ érto have a meal吃饭chī fàn (nǚ'ér chī fàn) — la hija come (una comida).

how many / a few几jǐ pregunta por un número. who谁shéi (shéi) pregunta por una persona. where哪儿nǎr (nǎr) pregunta por un lugar.

Una respuesta como Beijing, capital of the… Lee todo el enunciado, incluyendo not不bù y not / haven't没méi, antes de emparejar con una imagen o una respuesta.

Practícalo. Rehearsal leído por el profesor, guion oculto: table桌子zhuō zi(bound form) up上shàngto have / there is有yǒu两个liǎng gècup杯子bēi zi。 Correcto: dos tazas — to have / there is有yǒu indica existencia, 两个liǎng gè cuenta las tazas, table桌子zhuō zi(bound form) up上shàng las localiza.

    Repaso

    1. daughter女儿nǚ ér喝水hē shuǐ vs daughter女儿nǚ érto have a meal吃饭chī fàn — ¿qué diferencia hay?
    2. ¿Qué palabra interrogativa pregunta por una persona?
    3. ¿Qué significa to have / there is有yǒu en "table桌子zhuō zi(bound form) up上shàngto have / there is有yǒu两个liǎng gècup杯子bēi zi" (Hay dos tazas sobre la mesa)?

2. who谁shéi (Quién). 3. Existencia — las tazas existen sobre la mesa. 4.
