Listen for a detail
What happens if it rains?
Show script, meaning, and explanation
如果明天下雨,我们就在家看书。虽然不能出去,但是可以休息。
If it rains tomorrow, we will read at home. Although we cannot go out, we can rest.
如果明天下雨 is the condition; 在家看书 is the result.
If you use the script, this becomes supported reading. Close the script and replay the recording when you are ready.
Read a different account
学校星期六有活动。林安虽然很累,但是想参加。王力说,如果不下雨,他就去。两个人还没决定几点出发。
Show English meaning
The school has an activity on Saturday. Lin An wants to join despite being tired. Wang Li will go if it does not rain. They have not decided the departure time.
Which detail is not yet decided?
Show the answer and why
Departure time — 还没决定几点出发 explicitly leaves the departure time open.
Speak with a new detail
Suggest an activity. Your partner adds a weather condition; repeat the conditional plan to confirm it.
Try without reading. Work with a partner or make a private recording and listen back. Check the message and the response to your partner; pronunciation needs actual speech.
Show one model
A: 星期六去公园吧。 B: 如果不下雨,我就去。 A: 好,不下雨就去。
Write and revise
Write a plan with one condition and one contrast.
Show a model and self-review checklist
如果星期六不下雨,我们就去公园。虽然有点累,但是我想去。
- Separate the condition from a confirmed fact.
- Keep the result linked to the condition.
- Use a genuine contrast after 虽然.
Your writing is not uploaded or automatically graded. Several responses may fit the task.
Remember for next time
A conditional plan is not proof that the activity will happen. Do not report an if-clause as an event.
Tomorrow, recall two words and try the speaking task with a new detail. A few days later, revisit the listening without its script.
Teacher and partner guidance
Model the goal, then let the learner attempt it. Check understanding of the spoken passage with the script hidden. Use the writing checklist to discuss meaning and structure; use actual speech to observe intelligibility and interaction. These public tasks are formative and must not be reused as unseen tests.
