HSK1: see what you can use
Original course checkpoints; not official mock papers, scaled HSK scores or unseen assessments.
Work with help closed first. Play each listening passage twice. Complete reading before checking answers. Speaking and writing require human feedback; use the models for review after attempting the task.
Suggested practice time: listening 8 minutes · reading 8 minutes · writing 5 minutes · speaking 3 minutes. Pause whenever you need to. These times are for this short checkpoint.

Passage 2

Writing
Write three short Chinese sentences. Give an invented name, say whether you are a student, and name one food or drink you like.
Your writing stays on this page and is not sent for grading. Copy it somewhere safe before leaving.
Review with a model and checklist
我叫周雨。我是学生。我喜欢喝茶。
- The name is introduced with 叫.
- The identity sentence uses 是 appropriately.
- The last sentence gives a meaningful preference.
- The characters are readable; a different invented name or preference is acceptable.
The model is one possible response. Ask a teacher or partner to check meaning, intelligibility and task completion. An exact match is not required.
Speaking
Greet a partner, introduce yourself with an invented name, and ask the partner’s name. Respond when the partner answers.
Review with a model and checklist
你好,我叫周雨。你叫什么名字?很高兴认识你。
- The partner can understand the greeting and name.
- The question asks for a name rather than a yes–no answer.
- I respond to the partner rather than reading one uninterrupted script.
The model is one possible response. Ask a teacher or partner to check meaning, intelligibility and task completion. An exact match is not required.
Choose one uncertain item, revisit its teaching unit, then try a fresh response tomorrow. Listening and reading results here describe this attempt; they do not measure overall HSK readiness.
