Build the meaning
- Count ordinary objects with number + measure word + noun: two两general measure word个apple苹果, two apples. two两 is useful before general measure word个; two二 is used in numbers such as twenty二十.
- how many / how much多少coin钱 asks a price. I / me我want, in this request要…… says what you want in this buying situation; it is not the same as I / me我to have / there is有……, I have.
The count is two两general measure word个, not two二general measure word个 in this ordinary phrase. Use a measure word instead of directly copying English two apples.
Complete “two apples”: 两____苹果。
The measure word 个 sits between 两 and 苹果.
Listen for a fresh detail
- Listen before revealing the script.
- Replay if you need to. This is practice: if playback is unavailable, use the script as reading and return to listening on a device with Mandarin playback.
